Fall has arrived! The
Browns are a month into a new season, leaves are turning, and soon, some
of you will be leaving for warmer climates. It’s hard to believe, but
there are actually people who shun the frigid temperatures, gray skies,
and lake-effect snow of northeastern Ohio! Wherever you choose to spend
winter, please remember to err on the side of caution.
Let me share my own story.
My husband and I have a rental property in Florida. In between visitors,
our roof leaked—even though it looked fine from the exterior—and some
furniture and carpeting were ruined. Having the roof thoroughly inspected
would have saved us a great deal of time, frustration, and expense.
There are other things
you can do to preserve your home while you are away. For example, have a
pest control agent come out and inspect your home. You would be amazed at
how easily little creatures can squeeze through the smallest cracks and
openings in your home! |
Also, make arrangements to
keep your house secure. Have your mail forwarded to you by the United
States Postal Service. Ask neighbors to keep a close eye on your home and
property and periodically turn lights on and off to give a sense of
occupancy. Better yet, install an alarm system.

making Ohio your permanent residence—or anywhere else, for that
matter—call me today at Keller Williams Greater Cleveland at 440-729-1921,
